Import and export jobs move data between trac and your organisation’s external storage, such as an S3 bucket or an Azure Blob Storage container. They are batch jobs, recorded like any other job, so every dataset brought onto the platform and every file sent off it has a permanent record of where it came from or went to.

Both jobs use the external storage locations set up for the tenant. An admin adds them on the tenant resources page (‘Add data location’), from the storage types a platform admin has enabled.

Both pages are on the ‘Import & Export’ menu. Files can be .csv, .parquet or .arrow; the file extension sets the format.
